Today is a very special day, class! Does anyone know what day it is? That’s right,
it’s BurdaStyleDay! I went to a party at Purl Soho (a store that will make you swoon if you’re a knitty/crafty/tactile/visual type!) sponsored by the BurdaStyle team. It was such a delight to meet the folks behind the community and the blog, and they were all darling! I even got to meet Jamie, whose Peter Pan Collar Pinafore I’d been ogling a few weeks ago when it was a featured project! Thank you so much, Burdastyle!
Of course, I tried d e s p e r a t e l y to leave the store without purchasing anything, but… I might have been a little bit bad. I’ve had my eye on Cal Patch’s Design-It-Yourself Clothes: Patternmaking Simplified for a while now, and when I saw that Purl Soho had it in stock, naturally I couldn’t live without it. I’m (supposed to be) on a self-imposed (and totally Man Friend-supported) temporary project spending hiatus, but hey, I’m investing in my future! Or at least in my sanity (although I’m fairly certain that investing in my sanity frequently entails withdrawing small chunks of the Man Friend’s sanity… an unfortunate side effect of the whole “opposites attract” scenario). Can’t wait to dig into the book and begin learning about drafting my own patterns! What an exciting day!
