Hi, guys! Happy Sew Grateful Week! I’m so happy that Debi dreamed up this little holiday as a chance to express our gratitude to the online sewing community. I’m blown away by the generosity, encouragement, and creativity you guys pour out constantly! I’m feeling especially lucky this week, which says a lot, since I always feel lucky to be a part of this group. First, I received a package in the mail this week– the vintage knitting booklet that I won in Kerry’s giveaway at Kestrel Finds and Makes!

I just wish I had a wig as beautiful as the lady on the left!
The booklet is filled with amazing Aran designs– I particularly love the cardigan on the left in the photo above. Gorgeous!
Then, I was so pleased to wake up Saturday morning and find that I’d won Nettie’s giveaway on Sown Brooklyn for a Pattern Runway pattern! I’ve been in love with this since the pattern was announced right before Christmas, but trying to be strong and stick to my budget:

...drool...
It’s the One Shouldered Bow Party Dress— isn’t it perfect? I’m really excited to make it in a sophisticated grey or a midnight blue… perfect for cocktail parties or winter weddings! A million thanks to Kerry and Nettie!! If you’re not familiar with their blogs, you should check them out! They’re both unique and creative makers with entertaining voices and killer style!
So, I’d like to pass along the love and host a little giveaway here on the blog! I picked out a few lovelies that I hope you guys will enjoy! First up, this fabric:
This is 2.5 yards of rayon in a vibrant coral hue– it’s from Paron Fabrics in NYC and it’s a remnant from Christian Dior, if that piques anybody’s interest (60″ selvedge). It’s absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion, and I’m hoping that someone out there makes something really special with it!
I didn’t want to leave out my knitting friends, so I’m also giving away this yarn:
This is two skeins of Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino, a soft and strong fingering-weight yarn. I’m sure this will knit up beautifully!
Feel free to enter for a chance to win the yarn and/or the fabric by leaving a comment here. International shipping is fine, and you can enter until Friday, February 10th at 11:59PM EST. Yay!
Happy Sew Grateful Week, everybody! I really do want you to know how much I appreciate each and every one of you– I’m so glad to be part of your lives, even if it’s just in a small way and not in real life. 🙂
Coral ? …… Paron Fabrics ? ……. Christian Dior ? …….. would LOVE to win this fabric.

I am drooling for that rayon! Dreaming of flow-y summer frocks. Ahhhh.
I don’t knit though. I do, just not well. Or consistently. It is beautiful, so I hope it goes to a good home!
I, on the other hand, will make a fabulous home for that rayon! Thanks!

Thank you so much for the giveaway! I am going to order the first pattern magic book, and I am wondering if that fabric is tough enough to make some of those designs, I can totally picture a few of them in that lovely color.
I just wanted to add that the renfrew top looks really professional, but I’m too lazy to leave a second message on that thread 😉

I’m new to this crafting community… but I agree whole heartedly. Everyone has been very nice! Can’t wait to see your dress. Since I haven’t gotten a sewing machine, I’ve been knitting. the Koigu yarn is amazing!

I feel terribly cheeky entering all of these giveaways. The merino yarn looks deliciously soft and it would be great to win that as I could knit something before winter (being in the southern hemisphere). Thanks for being so generous with your giveaways, what a lovely group of creators I’m lucky to hang out with online,

Thank you very much for the giveaway! First I have to say I am jealous of the vintage knitting book. One of my next knitting projects is a cable knit cardigan – I’m sure there are some fantastic patterns in your book. Also, that one shoulder dress is beautiful and would lovely in the coral of your giveaway.
As you can see I’m a knitter and a sewer and would give both the coral fabric and the yarn a great new home and make something that would do them both justice!
The Online Sewing community is so wonderful and generous and kind. I have learned a lot from every single one and would like to thank you, Ginger, personally for everything you give us.

Ooh, I would love to win the yarn! Debi is an old friend of mine and I love to read her blog even though I don’t sew. (I could never measure up to my mom in sewing, so I knit instead!) I have 2 baby sweaters or vests to make for a friend’s twins (genders unknown) due this spring. The yarn would be great for coordinated sweaters (or vests). Thanks for the chance to enter!!!

I might have long since divorced my husband and moved back to the US or Britain if it weren’t for the online sewing community helping me make connections despite the fact I live in a place where *no one* thinks like me and have very few friends. True story.
I LOVE THAT DRESS!
