Yonkers
Hi, guys! Just wanted to drop a quick line to apologize for my inactivity this week. I’ve just started up a new and demanding gig, so the work days have been quite long, plus the internet at my apartment has been down for the last three days. I’m hoping to catch up on sewing, posting, and reading your posts over the weekend (if I can get the internet back up and running!).

Port Washington
I thought I’d leave you with a couple of Instagram pics so you can see where I’ve been the last few days (not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I do location work for TV and film and I’ve been scouting outside the city this week)! I almost always work in the city, so it’s been fun to catch some new scenery this week!
This place looks so pretty!

It is! It’s so relaxing to catch some calm scenery (even though it was in the middle of a day that was bonkers!)!

It’s super fun to get out of Dodge (well, at least a little ways out of Dodge…)! Unfortunately, I’ve also driven 100+ miles every day this week! Blech!

Wow – the scenery looks great, and to make me more jealous, it looks warm! It is winter here in Oz and I am sick of the rain!

Ugh, I’m so sorry! I wish I could share some of this heat! The sun is so hot today that it feels like it’s searing my flesh the second I step outside!

I’m out of commission too this week — at a conference, surprisingly and thrillingly demanding. But I wanted to tell you how much I loved your maxi dress! You might just have convinced me that I need one too! 😉

What a cool line of work. Good luck with the new gig! I just changed jobs too, so I know well what a loop even a slightly different schedule can throw you for! After 5 weeks I’m still trying to figure out where best to stick my sewing…

Thanks so much! It’s not super exciting– I work freelance, so when I finish up one movie or season of a TV show, I hop onto another one. It can be so hard to settle back into the crazy routine after a few weeks off! Good luck with your job change! I feel like such a nut– all day when I’m running around for work, I’m thinking about sewing!

Thanks, lady! It’s really fun and exciting, but super long hours and kinda physically demanding. I’ll try to remember to share more photos from my scouting escapades!

Congrats on the new gig! I concur, it’s so hard to get back into the work groove after having some time off. It’s such a catch-22, no? We want work for the money, but loooove the time off 🙂
I’m having such a hard time doing any sewing much less blogging while on my current job. And it goes thru February-I’ve gotta figure this out!

Ugh, me too! We go through February, too, unless the show does well and the network orders the back nine! Yikes! I’m grateful to be working, but I’m struggling with burnout from the dumb hours. 😦

Good luck on the new gig! I’m always so curious about how other sewing bloggers spend their non-sewing hours, so thank you for the update and the pretty pics!

Me, too! It’s so fun to know more about what everyone does and enjoys outside of our shared interest!

That’s ok, we totally understand. That must be great doing scouting for film locations.
