Second Blogiversary Giveaway!

Hey, guys!  Happy Wednesday!  May is one of my favorite months– the weather really starts to get nice here in the northeast, and there are so many things to celebrate!  Last week was my seventh wedding anniversary, next week is Man Friend’s 30th birthday, and we’re just a few days away from celebrating our first Peggy-versary (one year since we adopted our cheerful girl dog from Animal Haven)!  But amidst all the hubbub, I missed my second blogiversary on May 11th!  But don’t worry– I didn’t forget about you guys!

I picked out some amazing fabric for you guys on my trip to Mood over the weekend!  It’s two yards of a gorgeous silk charmeuse, with one matte and one shiny side.  My (grainy due to the crappy, dark weather) photo doesn’t really do it justice, but it’s a lovely gray with a hint of lavender in it.  Suzanne at Beau Baby made an awesome blouse with a different colorway of this print in chiffon (Mood often carries silk prints that are offered in both chiffon and charmeuse, which is fun)– check it out here!

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment!  If you already know what you would make with it, let me know in the comments, too– I always love to snoop!  I’ll ship it anywhere.  Just enter by 11:59PM next Wednesday, May 29th, one week from today.  Hooray!

Thanks so much for reading my blog over the past two years!  It’s been so much fun getting to know you guys through your comments and blogs (and in person, whenever I get the chance!)!  Thanks to you, sewing is a fun, communal activity for me and not just solitary time spent hunching over my machine, cursing and seam ripping!

  1. Congrats! Love your blog. I would make Pattern Runway’s Gorgeous Pussy Bow Blouse with this fabric if I could squeeze it in! So cute.

  2. I’m a newer follower, but wish I had found you 2 years ago! Though a blouse would be tempting, I’d like to attempt a [lined] skirt of some kind.

  3. Happy blogiversary! Thank you for being an inspiration. Always looking forward to the net post. Beautiful fabric in fantastic color – I would make something with a simple silhouette and as few details as possible to display the gorgeous pattern and let the silk drape beautifully.

  4. Oo, how lovely! Not sure what I’d make with it-definitely something floaty and summery and elegant. Makes me happy just thinking about whatever the winner will make with it!

  5. I’m in love with your blog ginger and I absolutely adore the things you make! I’m super excited about the giveaway! Yay. For pretty fabrics!

  6. Omg I don’t even know what silk charmeuse IS but I’d make a cute dress out of it cos that fabric is gorgeous! Happy belated second blogiversary!

  7. Happy blooming everything doll! Whenever I ping over to you your cheerful face, lovely clothes and hell’a cute dogs always give me a lift. I will raise a cocktail to you and yours later on even though sitting in bed on this Sunday morn I could drink a bloody Mary.

  8. OOOh thank you for a chance at some material to make something beautiful! I’m thinking that wants to be sleeping shorts and a tank top! Happy anniversaries!

  9. I live in Portland, Oregon where “put a bird on it” is totally a thing!! I am brand new to sewing clothing, so I would have to make something really simple like a skirt, but this fabric would move so beautifully as a skirt with its shine and slickness! Congrats on 2 years!

  10. I am just starting to sew for myself and don’t have a big stash of fashion fabrics yet. Would love to win this and make a fabulous blouse for myself!

  11. Happy Blogiversary! Hope I’m not too late. Gorgeous fabric – my first thought was a Tilly Mathilde, even though I am in danger of filling my wardrobe with them. But then I just saw Oonaballoona’s Megan Nielsen Crescent made into a dress – it’s gorgeous and would look perfect in this fabric so I think that’s what I’d make. And Congratulations on 7 years of marriage too.

  12. Wow, you already have 237 comments! But I love the fabric, it’s absolutely gorgeous and I would love to have my very own piece of fabric from Mood! I’m linking a gorgeous vintage blouse would look lovely in this 🙂

  13. Holy cow, that’s a lot of comments! Congratulations on having a busy blog! I don’t mind if you never see this comment, just wanted to pass on the kudos, that’s AMAZING! 🙂

As far as the fabric goes… I’d have to say a dress, since that’s what I’ve been practicing lately. Something nice, A-line and darted.
