  2. So enjoyed your photos creations and commentary on MMM. And now I have your blog to enjoy.
    I am coming over to New York in 10 days. All the way from NZ. My first ever trip there. Sooo excited about going to Mood. Should I be getting excited about other fabric stores too?
    I shall be a definite tourist but my man knows that fabric shopping is a definite.
    What would be your advice to 1st time NYC fabric shopper. (Staying near Times Square.). I shall be bringing an empty suitcase. 🙂

  4. Hey! Thanks for inspiring me to finally make the Sorbetto Tank! I made it from a vintage sheet and it turned out splendid! I would have given you props on instagram, but I don’t think you have one. Regardless, if you want to see it, look for seagyrl on instagram. 🙂

  6. Hi There! Long time home sewist (auto-correct changes that to sexist!), and I discovered you on Mood Sewing Network. Super inspired to learn to knit from your blog.

    I asked and received some “practice” yarn and needles from my mom several years ago and just broke them out a couple of days ago. So far I am using Stitch ‘n’ Bitch book and youtube to get the basics. How long have you been knitting and are there any specific resources you can recommend for beginners?

    I hope (and fully intend) to be sweater knitting by the fall (too soon?). I live in NYC, so if you recommend lessons, I am open to that. I used to be on the upper west side a lot, and I know there are good resources there, but I live in Queens now, and work in Chelsea.

    Thanks for any advise that you are able to give!

    Also, so happy that you inspired the Ginger Jeans. I’m loving my 1st pair and intend to sew 2 more in the fall!

  8. Hi there! Just discovered your blog! I’m attempting for the first time to make a pair of pajamas and read your Carolyn pajamas post. Great entry. I have two questions. I live in California but I’m originally from Brooklyn. Could I please get your list of good fabric stores to hit when I visit? Also a question about muslin. Since I’m new to sewing.     This is probably a hard question but I found a flicker photo of a sports top/bra you made

    back in 2014! Anyway, I have been searching for guidance/patterns whatever to make a top like that but can’t find it. Did you make it up? If so, you should write it up and sell it because they’re popular tops now!

    Any advice would be so appreciated–I love your projects!
